Above: 8-1/2" x 11" Print - Against the moon in the night sky, an oak leaf and a celtic creature: The oak tree was very important in ancient celtic culture, as was the new moon, which Celts would address with poems.
Above: 8-1/2" x 11" Print - Irish stone high cross:This is a digital print of an original oil painting. Early high crosses were made as early as the 7th century. They contained stone carvings of Biblical stories, intended to tell the story of Christ to people who were not able to read and write. Here the central image is Christ on the cross.
Above: 8-1/2" x 11" Print - Lakes held special significance for the Celts, as did the ancient Irish harp shown here. There were three kinds of harp music played by ancient harpers - joyful, sad and soothing; the harpers held an esteemed place in celtic society. The Celts also believed that a certain type of yellow butterfly carried recently dead souls to heaven.
