California Beach, giclee print of original pastel
This image was created from photos of a vacation in California, where we drove from San Diego north to San Francisco on the coast highway. This scene is Torrey Pines Beach near San Diego. The Pacific Ocean is really emerald - though the surf can be rough. I love the way children respond to the waves, showing their excitement with their body language. This image came out quickly - I remembered how great it was to be on that beach. It was a challenge to create moving, gleaming water with the dry medium of pastel.
