Beach, giclee print of original oil on canvas painting

Many years ago, sitting on a beach without my far-sighted glasses, I noticed that what I saw was a million small dabs of bright color. I thought, "What a great painting that would be!" I've done a number of beach paintings since then, and the number of visual possibilities still seems endless. At first, I did them from life, but after many pitfalls of wind, sand, and heat (struggling with the big umbrella), I began to do them from photos I had taken. This kind of image, made up of innumerable patches of innumerable colors, takes a lot of time to do - best done in the studio.
