This is a reproduction of a charcoal drawing called Apache Warrior, which was done from a historical photograph of a Native American warrior in the 19th century. I have always admired the Native American spirit, represented here as fiercely proud; as well as the strikingly visual appearance and clothing. The black-and-white image lends itself to the use of charcoal to give an earthy and expressive quality.
